Theo clogged the sink in the yesterday night. He and Chen took on the challenge to fix it. Eventually Junning came to the rescue and helped him with his engineering skills. The mechanical closing mechanism broke and thus the water was not flowing. After disassembling everything and readjusting the sealing ring the sink worked fine ⚒️👨🔧
We drove to a gypsy bakery that makes fatty food. Our plan was to etar museum. We ended up driving on an unmaintained road with lots of holes.
On the way we passed abandoned communist architecture. ‘This is some real bond villain shit’. Theo drove very fast he is a race car dirver. We drove all the way to the open air museum.
Open air museum
We got there and paid for tickets while it started to rain. Huddled under the canopy of he ticket booth afraid of the cold wetness we studied the map. The heavy rained died down pretty fast and we went into the artificial village. Preserved old architecture is fascinating. There were some water mills that can be used for different purposese. Sophisticated mechanisms were built to automate different things.
From the house with the waterweel there are underground pathways that can transmit the energy withhh wooden planks. In one building there was a hammer for processing wool. We didn’t fullly comprehend the mechanism. In another therer was a classic grinder to produce wheat. In the picture above you can see the wooden pipe that leads the water to theh house over the roof in the top right of the image. It gets let down through the house and spins a spindle that can be used fo wood cutting. Here a stone for sharpening blades gets rotoated by a waterwheel. The stone also gets moistured. Because it is a traditional museum that are many exebitions of tradition preserved artifacts. Bakery Most I enjoyed the walnut cookies. They are super deliciouse and I will try to make them myself. A lot of traditional manufactures are located in the village.
Blacksmith for producing Bells for cattle. The goods that the people who work in the worksop produce is handmade by them and sold on the spot where they porduce it. Selling selfmade knives🔪.
Bowl carving
We booked a workshop for trying carving the wooden bowls. The mechanism is water powered and can be turned on and off inside the shed with a pull of a wooden lever. He even let me try it alone. The waterstream can be seen on the right of the house. There were a lot annoying kids with whistles playing around. Somehow everyone of us got a cutting board of the guy we took the wood cutting course. Marveling at the cutting board. We also went to do some potter which was super fun. Producing something usable and nice looking is harder than expected.
Pottery
Dimi and Tanya talked a lot with the seller. He ended up giving a 50% discount for his boards. I had to get one too. The handmade walnut cutting board just was 10 Euro. conversing in the green. Everyone needs some discussing in theirRelationship . We ended up leaving the town. But before that we ate some traditional dishes on the opposite of the street.
