After having a lazy day yesterday it was time to do some activities. We went kayaking in the Meramec park.

We went down the Meramec river with aluminum Kayaks in the Meramec State Park.

Before that we went to a gas station. Everything that is bigger is better.

The temperature was very hot and it was humid.

green healthy nature

After a while I figured out hot to handle such a boat properly.

We stopped after a while to leave the kayaks and to go to a cave where bats would live. This cave was closed because the bats living in the cave have a disease (fungus called white nose syndrome) that is killing them. We are protecting the bats by not going inside the cave.

The water coming out of the cave is ice cold and you could feel it very good through the aluminum.

By touching the aluminum it would even seem colder that in the water itself.

In total we went 10km by kayak.
